Pureflix Films president David A.R. White announced Wednesday plans to bring his epic blockbuster film series to the small screen.
Both ‘God’s Not Dead’ and ‘God’s Not Dead 2’ both were narrowly beaten for Best Picture in 2014 and 2016, so the company is striking while the iron is hot, and NBC has ordered up 30 episodes of a TV adaptation before ‘God’s Not Dead 3’ hits theaters late next year.
The show will revolve around an accountant, who is told he must deny his beliefs and file taxes for a client who believes the year ends in December.
“The Bible clearly tells us God’s loving plan,” White said. “Exodus 12 doesn’t take place in January, it is in March. The War on New Years is serious, and Christians every day are persecuted for it.”
The series has already won critical acclaims by Christian group Focus On The Family, who says it “will be a great television program, and anyone who does not watch it is not a Christian.”
